Ms. Donnell
Ms. Donnell is the Science Instructor & Coach at McLendon Elementary School in Decatur, Georgia. In this role, she is well-versed in developing science lessons based on the 5E learning cycle and utilizing 3 Dimensional Instruction, monitoring student understanding, supporting student learning and teacher planning, and facilitating professional development within the building and district. She believes that professional development and student learning should be relatable, balanced, and engaging.
Ms. Donnell is an active member in the following organizations: National Science Teacher Association (NSTA), International Technology & Engineering Teachers Association (ITEEA), Georgia Science Teachers Association (GSTA), Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE), and the Environmental Education Alliance of Georgia. She has attended many national and local conferences and professional developments to keep herself current on Science & Engineering topics. She partners with other teachers in her building, across DeKalb County, and around the country to create the best experiences she can for her students and staff.
When she is not teaching you can find her spending time with her Australian Shepherd, hanging out in Barnes & Noble, reading Science & Children Magazine, or any book she can get her hands on! She is an avid reader and likes to get out and around Atlanta to explore and enjoy live music! She is currently working on her National Geographic Certification and can't wait to implement her knowledge in the classroom and curriculum.
